Coaches – please notify the NELSA office at soccer@nelsa.org if you have any games scheduled after April 4th. With the REC season officially ending on April 4th we need to know what fields will be used so they can be maintained. If NELSA is not notified by April 3rd of any additional games being scheduled we cannot promise the field will be playable for your game.

The CenturyTel Springfest soccer tournament will continue as planned but all games for U8 and below have been canceled due to water on the fields.

NO GAMES TODAY! The Board has made the decision to cancel all soccer games for Saturday, March 14th. Coaches – please reschedule your games through your league reps at your convenience.

Coaches and Parents – please be aware that NELSA strives to keep the safety of the children in mind when decisions are being made regarding game cancellations. If NELSA deems the fields to be unplayable at any time or in fear of threatening weather, there will be a message left on the NELSA phone (361-0103), as well as, on the NELSA website. These messages will appear as quickly as possible once the decision has been made. If NELSA does not feel it necessary to cancel due to field conditions or weather conditions but the coaches feel their teams should not play, it is your responsibility to notify the opposing coach and the referee assignor (if you are U9 or older) as quickly as possible so all parties can be contacted in a timely manner. For U9 and older – Please be aware that if you cancel a game that NELSA deems is playable you run the risk of not being able to secure an official for that make-up game.

Congratulations to both NELSA Extreme (U17 Girls) and NELSA Bombers (U13 Girls) for winning at the Hub City Ford Cajun Cup over the weekend.  NELSA Extreme beat Lafayette United 2-1 in the finals of the U17 Girls bracket.  Meanwhile, NELSA Bombers defeated Lafayette Cajun Fury in a thriller which was tied after the end of regulation with the Bombers coming out on top on penalty kicks, 5-4.  Way to go teams!
